I’m back in Korea to attend a summer conference in Gang-neung, on the east coast of Korea. The schedule was pretty busy, so unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to take any long hikes.
But, I couldn’t let my visit go without at least one hike. So, I made a short day hike up Inwangsan, which is a small mountain in Seoul. I started off the course from exit 2 at Muakjae Subway Station (무악재역). Seoul is a pretty dense city, but there were wooden signs pointing the way to the Inwangsan Hiking Trail Entrance. Thankfully, I was able to find my way to the entrance without a problem.
I’ve been to Inwangsan various times before, but had never taken this exact route up, so it was a nice change.
On the way up, I passed the Muakjae Sky-Bridge, which is shown below. This small bridge was created over a highway. It connects Inwangsan to Ansan so that animals are able to safely move from one small mountain to the other.
Inwangsan is only about 338 m, so it was an easy hike up. I hiked back down as the sun started to set, and you can see in the photo the view of the castle walls in the city.
